GO GREEN

...that's what i say when i make smoothies now. guys, i can't get enough of them; so, i thought i'd share what i've been blending lately..
yesterday's recipe:
-rice milk and a splash of Bolthouse Farms carrot+ juice
-frozen fruit mix (pineapple, peaches, strawberries) and frozen bananas
-a handful of fresh strawberries
-flax seed
-wheat germ
-baby kale

start with the liquids and frozen fruit, blending until smooth. add in the kale, blend. add strawberries and seed/germ. serve!
when i made it last time, i didn't have any coconut water on hand so i substituted rice milk.
strangely, i just slurped the last bit of a green smoothie as i type this..after going by the grocery store, i picked up baby spinach and green chard to add in the mixture.
never did i think i would love green smoothies this much, but guys, i am guilty. i know the color is slightly alarming, but don't let it drive you away because they truly taste good with the right ingredients. plus it does wonders for your body! it's like the gift that keeps on giving. go green.

  1. Perrin, I'm a fan of the green smoothies, too. They have been a life-saver whenever I faint. A swig of a green smoothie, and I'm back to life. It's now how I get my 2 cups of veggies in everyday at lunch. So simple and healthy. Love them.
