1. one of my good friends graduated high school to kick off the summer season
2. my brother got married! it was such a happy time as our house reached its
3. i spent nearly everyday of the summer nannying three sisters under the age of 5 -- i learned a lot about my sinful self and got a glimpse of what motherhood will be like. it was the best job. goodbyes in august were tougher than i thought.
4. a friend and i led a bible study for the teenage girls in our church throughout the summer months. i don't know who walked away having learned more: myself or them? i looked forward to every week we spent dissecting Scripture and doing life with one another.
5. at the end of june, i flew to arkansas (solo) to visit family friend's who i hadn't seen since i was four. i mainly went because they asked me to do family photos for them, but it turned out to be much more when flights were canceled. to say i had fun would be an understatement! i'm thankful i was able to see such a sweet family.
6. i said goodbye to the jeep and hello to a black honda element (bittersweet).
7. the beach saw much of me this past summer, like the fourth of july for example, but nothing compared to my time at RYM camp as i chaperoned ESPC youth. the Lord blessed me that week, especially through the girls i was privileged to lead in small group. i came back tan and refreshed in the Word.
8. any spare time i had (which was very limited) i used to hang out with the best people, my friends.
9. i had the joy of doing multiple photo sessions over the course of the summer months! which is always a blast and a good learning experience.
10. a group of kansas state college students became a part of our church during the summer. they came with a ministry called kaleo. it was a really cool time getting to know them, be encouraged by them, serve them and introduce them to my hometown! i still keep in touch with a few of them.
11. i moved to louisville, kentucky. college has been incredibly fun since day one! i love where i am, who i'm around and what i'm studying. beyond grateful to be here..
12. i started dating a guy - Sawyer. north carolina has welcomed me a lot of weekends :) it's been dreamy ever since.
13. The Head and the Heart came the 'ville, and i got to experience them in concert.
14. God is teaching and working in me daily. i've never realized my need for Him more than i do now. my constant prayer is that God would change my heart to be more like Jesus'.
so there you have it folks, over five months of my life encapsulated in fourteen bullet points. to avoid the task of playing catch up, i hope to be more consistent with my blog, starting now!
