SUMMER'S LAST SHINDIG

yes, school has started. aka perrin's in college (what). this seems all too fast, really. if i'm being honest, i'm actually enjoying my community college, even though i opposed the thought of attending it beforehand. i think i like it because it's something new; something fresh. you see, i've been homeschooled since kindergarten. it's not that homeschooling was bad or boring in any way, shape or form, it just became monotonous over the duration of 18 years. as far as i'm concerned, homeschooling was a huge blessing for me. had i not, my spiritual life could be nonexistent or not near the depth it is today; i could be into drugs and alcohol; heck, i could be emo for all i know. to my parents' goal for homeschooling us four Mabry kids (which can be found in Deuteronomy 6:5-9), and the dedication that it took everyday to get us out of bed, teach us, and pour into us spiritually, thank you.
now i just got on one of the biggest rabbit trails i've ever taken, but all of that to say, school has begun and i will fail at posting consistently on here due to homework and papers and reading assignments. however, before the first day of school arrived, my friend becca and i hit up a local concert! you guys. it was steve moakler: one of our most commonly loved music artists! we were so stoked.
i've only attended a handful of concerts (coldplay, the black keys, ben rector, and now moakler), so i'm still kind of clueless at what people expect when they go to concerts, but really, this one was pretty rad. it wasn't overcrowded in anyway and we got front row seats. plus, pictures with steve and andrew rip (his opening act, which if i do say so myself was pretty talented) completed the night. i mean who doesn't like getting pictures with musicians they love?
it was such a memorable night and of course bec and i loved every minute of it! i'll say it was the perfect way to end such a fantastic summer. it's hard to do this night justice, so i will leave it at that: short and sweet.

i'm on the right, bec's on the left; andrew rip, then steve moakler.
