it happened ladies and gentleman (i highly doubt men read my blog buuuut). my sister, madi, is officially a student at liberty u! she flew in last saturday from her travel-filled summer and mom, dad and i spent three awesome days with her at home, before we packed the car with "crates of her life."
that following tuesday, we hit the interstates and drove the long 14-hour drive. 14 hours of good conversation. 14 hours of jokes. 14 hours of pushing back the mentality that we won't see you until Christmas. 14 hours of constant starbuck's pit stops. 14 hours, period. we finally arrived close to midnight on that same tuesday, and crashed a hotel. the following morning began early - just when the sun was starting to make it's way into those not-so-grand hotel curtains. after
with so many helping hands, it didn't take long to move her in at all! by 10:30am she was all settled, minus the little items we needed to pick up. we went over to target and then grabbed lunch at panera to carry on the day. i'll tell you what, having a close family is such a huge gift guys.
we went back to her dorm just to drop off the extension cords and random things we forgot to pack with us, and then somehow ended up at the campus bookstore. aka starbucks. aka i purposely led us all there. sullivan met us there to catch up over coffee in the fall-like weather virginia possessed. we took a quick five minutes or so to look at the faded mountains in the distance, and then said our goodbyes to mads. of course my parents had a hard time with it, but madi and i were both looking forward to our christmas reunion that i think we overlooked the fact that we wouldn't see each other anywhere in between - ha! i love my sister, you guys.
the trip was so fast and the commotion was everywhere, but it was time well spent with my sister and parents. and for that, i am thankful.
