this past monday, i was incredibly excited to have a day, free of work and school. labor day was in action. however, the sunday night before then, i was surrounded by friends and food and films. we had a marvelous time enjoying our sunday night, knowing school was not in the next day's agenda. i ended up staying at my friend's house with my other friend too - we call ourselves the trio.
the three of us wound up staying awake until 3 in the morning (like we usually do), sitting around her kitchen table/island having good conversations. we talked about what life is currently throwing at us, countless hilarious memories and the exciting future in store (Lord willing). it reminded me of how loved i am by my God who has graciously given me friends that are levelheaded and in tune with the Word. i need that, and God knew that i would.
the following morning, shaley had to scoot, but i stayed with bec at her cozy, quaint home. we made breakfast, surprisingly worked on school the entire day (even when it was a holiday from school), cooked a quesadilla lunch, drank multiple cups of coffee and finally finished our designated assignments. despite the school work, i really had a swell time. whenever friends are incorporated into anything, it automatically makes the task more enjoyable; and that it did. time flew by and before we knew it, we were packing a picnic and on our way to the beach. it was so cool to experience the evening/nighttime atmosphere at the beach, rather than the blazing, populated day time tone. we laid our quilt on the sandy, uneven shore and sprawled out with our peanut butter sandwiches and grapes and almonds...ok, and gardettos. after we slowly-but-surely ate our dinner, i was ready to shoot pictures. we had tons of fun as the sun hid between the condominiums, with the wind blowing from the east. we ended our time there with an hour-long walk which was made perfect with talking and laughing. the stars were out too, and ben rector's new album was playing.
be random, friends, when free time is shoveled on your plate. be active in your local.
