GOD MOVED.

"you have to go to Africa this year, Perrin" and "you would totally love Africa, it's right up your ally" hit my ears countless times as the annual missions trip to Africa came creeping up..
$3300 though? that is a big lump sum of cash. how can i raise that while in school and separated from the church who is leading the team? i don't know, God. can You do it? swirled around in my brain as i thought through going or staying.

the truth? i was uncertain of God's power and sovereignty. the Truth? God is powerful and sovereign.

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

Scripture says it so clearly; it's RIGHT there. do you see it? He is able... when we ask and believe that He can.
and that is where i fell short: i did not ask God to work, and i definitely didn't think he could.

so, in february when i stumbled across that verse in my devotions, it became plain as day: trust God, he will provide, and get on that plane to Kenya.
since then, i have seen people's hearts stirred and God's faithfulness proven.

honestly, i forgot how sanctifying missions trip's are before reaching the destination. this four-month fundraising journey has reminded me of just that.
as i reminisce from the beginning to the end of raising support, some supporters look highlighted in my mind...
- students upon students from school shocked me with their generosity, even in the midst of not having jobs or having to pay tuition. students i didn't know and students that were more like friends convicted me to sacrifice.
- my parents, they gave multiple times, but it never lost its ability to overwhelm me with gratitude. traveling to Africa, knowing that i have their support (in all areas) is something i am very thankful for.
- my "boss" -- who happens to be the parents of three little girls that i babysit -- texted me, asking how much money i lacked for Kenya. they immediately wrote a check to cover the remaining balance.
- after a recent team meeting, i found out about some additional costs that will come up while traveling. i shared about all-things-Africa with my church family last wednesday. i am getting a check that covers every last penny i need, tomorrow.

even when my faith failed to act and take a risk, God moved.
