So I know this is just a bit delayed, but I'm just now getting to it, it is what it is!
This past Sunday was so perfect; it all began when I woke up to the smell of coffee (I'm a big fan people). After doctoring up my cup of Folger's, accompanied by Cracklin Oat Bran, I was really thirsty for time with my God. I read my usual 'Jesus Calling Book' which is always so convicting yet comforting at the same time (I highly recommend it!!). So, after reading that day's portion, I was so thankful that God had put that desire to get into His Word in my heart, because it then led to listening to a few of my favorite worship songs and one heck of a prayer! Instead of multitasking while listening to Christian music, I specifically sat still and really focused on the lyrics and their meaning which, can I at least say, made a HUGE difference. It made my conversation with the Lord so much more heartfelt and real. Least to say, it was an awesome start to my Sunday!
Anticipating what that day was going to hold, I started to get cleaned up and ready for church - physically and spiritually. Church service that morning was off the chain too, as the worship was ridiculously good and then following that Pastor Brock preached on 'Characteristics of a Thankful Christian.' Needless to say, I left church with the mindset of really being sincerely grateful this week.
After I got home from church, I so delicately steam some mixed veggies just so I could then take 5 minutes to inhale them, somewhat changed, and scooted out the door to meet up with my bestest friend Priscilla!
I picked her up and we headed downtown expecting a slow afternoon down there, only to be surprised that it was SO CROWDED! I loved the atmosphere: smiling people, a band playing music in the street, and the most perfect weather. We totally took advantage of that day by filling it with walking around a lot, snapping some pictures with her new lens (yay!), enjoying the bay's scenery, and slurping cold coffee! The day didn't end there though! We then hopped in the car and went back to church for our annual thanksgiving dinner. Honestly, it wasn't the best, best food, but it was a nice preview of what this Thursday's feast will taste like :) After everyone gobbled (see what I did there??) up their food, we sang several songs and then had open mic for people to share what they were thankful for. It was nice. I then said goodbye to Priscilla, gave her lots of hugs, and headed home, reflecting on that afternoon's awesomeness.
All of that to say, that was one of the best Sunday's I'd had in a while. I love you Priscilla!
